Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit leading the movement to close the gender gap in technology. We’ve reached 500 million people through our online initiatives and 300,000 girls through our programming. Of the girls we've reached in person, half come from historically underrepresented groups in tech. We have 80,000 college-aged alumni, majoring in computer science at a rate 15 times the national average!
Our largest program, Girls Who Code Clubs, provides free curriculum and resources for 3-12th graders to learn computer science and join a growing sisterhood of girls using tech to change the world. Our interactive curriculum teaches girls coding, while also creating a culture of bravery where girls feel supported and encouraged to take risks and learn new skills. When you sign up to access our free curriculum and resources, our Clubs:
- Are 100% free
- Can be run virtually or in-person
- Include 120+ hours of flexible plug and play curriculum that feature groupbuilder activities, spotlights on inspiring women in tech, self-guided coding curriculum, and a culminating Girls Who Code Project to address a real world problem in the community
- Do not require any prior coding experience to lead a Club
- Promote a girls-supportive environment, yet students of all genders are welcome to join!
